Drivers License and Diapers
My 17 year old daughter got her drivers license last month.
I can not believe it. How did she grow up so fast?
I really don't know where the time has gone.
At the same time I still have one in diapers.
How did that happen? What was I thinking? One that will be 3 in November and another will 18. That just floors me.
The oldest will be old enough to vote, enlist in the military, smoke, go out on her own.
The other is watching Dora and Spongebob and refuses to pee in the potty.
There are the boys, who are 14 and 7.
I have been a mother for over half of my life. I don't remember a time when I was not a mother. In fact, I was pregnant and married before I even got my own drivers license.
It seemed one moment I was in turmoil over all the normal teen stuff. Boys, Make-up, clothes, boys, curfews, and did I mention boys?
The next I was going to OB appointments, getting married and worrying about the bills.
Now I am worried about them, the children. I worry about everything little thing. Whether it is a boo-boo on the little ones knee, the boys fighting and the oldest getting her heart broke. Then there are the major things. I worry about fires, car crashes, the list is endless.
If I had known all of this beforehand, would it have made a difference? Well, there are some things I would have changed or done differently. But I would not change having any of them for anything in this world.
